The Louisville food truck community is about to throw down for a chance at 10 days of free parking.
Friday is National Food Day, and Louisville Metro Government is celebrating with a “Local Food Day” and a Food Trucks Love Local Contest at Sixth and Jefferson streets. Food trucks that participate in contest must create a dish with a local food component. Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and another to-be-named local celebrity will judge the dishes in two categories — best main dish and best other dish. Winner gets 10 days of free parking at a metered space.
Here are the participating trucks, as of Oct. 31:
- French Indo-Canada
- Genius in a Box
- Get It on a Bun at Booty’s
- Gyros Express
- Holy Mole
- Louisville Dessert Truck
- Traveling Kitchen
