It’s time to choose. Team Dunkin’ or Team Krispy?

A storm’s a-brewin’ over Twitter, and it’s all about doughnuts.

Dunkin’ Donuts looks like it will open a franchise in Louisville. This news led to some Twitter debate on my timeline yesterday regarding the tastiness of Dunkin’ Donuts compared to Krispy Kreme.

I don’t have anything against Dunkin’ Donuts, but I’m planted on Team Krispy. Like other folks who weighed in on this divisive issues (it’s tearing families apart, I tell ya), my alliance has more to do with nostalgia than anything else. I grew up about two minutes away from the Krispy Kreme in Shively, which makes this doughnut chain an important part of my formidable years as a chubby kid.

Now it’s time for you to pick a team. You have a week to vote. Take your opinion to Twitter with #teamdunkin or #teamkrispy hastags.

And for all you Nord’s Bakery lovers, don’t fret. This local gem will be an option in a future poll.
