Fine print: Louisville grocery deals for the week of 5.16.10

This week’s deals are a little late, but offers are still good until Saturday. Happy shopping.

Aldi

  • Mushrooms: 69 cents per pack
  • Green peppers: $1.99 for three
  • Crunchy Granola Raisin Bran cereal (fake Raisin Bran Crunch): $1.99 per box (I already bought two boxes. This off-brand cereal is one of my favorites.)

CVS Pharmacy (all savings require CVS card)

  • Heinz ketchup or Miracle Whip: Two for $5
  • Kraft barbecue sauce or Gold Emblem mustard: Buy one, get one free
  • Tostitos chips: Two for $6
  • Nabisco Triscuits, Wheat Thins, Honey Maid graham crackers: Two for $5

Dollar General

  • Cheetos or Doritos: $2 per bag
  • Prego pasta sauce: $2 per jar (Great deal. I recommend the chunky garden combo variety.)
  • Capri Sun or Kool-Aid Jammers 10 pack: $2 per pack
  • Reese’s Puffs, Cookie Crisp, Trix and Cocoa Puffs: $2 per box

Kroger (all savings require Kroger card)

  • Smart Ones entrees: $1.88 each
  • Kashi GoLean Cereal or TLC Granola Bars: $2.49 per box
  • Kroger milk: $1.88 per gallon
  • Ruffles or Lay’s potato chips: $1.98 per bag
  • Green Giant or Kroger frozen vegetables: 88 cents per bag
  • Arnold Sandwich Thins: Two for $5
  • Perdue Ground Turkey, 16 ounces: $2.49 (Healthier than beef and on sale.)
  • Florida sweet corn: Six ears for $2
  • Kroger yogurt: Three for $1
  • Tropicana orange juice, Trop50 or Dole juice: $2.38 per carton
  • Naturally Preferred Organic Milk or Private Selection milk: Two half gallons for $5
  • Blackberries or blueberries: Two containers for $4

Rite Aid

  • General Mills cereal: Buy one, get one free
  • Lay’s potato chips and dip: Two for $5
  • Fiber One bars and Nature Valley granola bars: Two for $5 (This sounds like a great deal, but I usually hold out until the Fiber One bars are two boxes for $4. It happens every two weeks or so at Kroger.)
  • Frosted Flakes and Rice Krispies: Buy one, get one free

Target

  • Thomas’ English muffins: $2.04 per package
  • Dunkin’ Donuts coffee: $6.99 for an 11- or 12-ounce bag (This coffee kicks Starbucks in the butt. Buy two bags.)
